stephengilbert Posted January 19, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted January 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just got some (LCD) screen protectors from ScreenPatronus. (I bought them on eBay, but I think they have a website as well.) I thought someone asked about such things here, but can't find the thread. Â In any case, these things go on easily, they're precut to fit the screen and disappear once applied. I can't vouch for their lifespan, but there are three to an order, and I think worth a try. The people there are cooperative as well.
Advertisement Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Hi stephengilbert, Take a look here M8 Screen Protector. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pascal_meheut Posted January 19, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted January 19, 2007 Same for me. I also ordered some for the DMR but I have problem getting the ones for the main color screen. The keep sending small ones for the monochromic LCD screen.
gravastar Posted January 19, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted January 19, 2007 Stephen, I'll be interested to know how you get on with them. I've used their protectors on several cameras and they're excellent. Â The first ones I received for the M8 I found that the corners would catch on clothes or my fingers where the thumb wheel is. I told the manufacturer about this and some more are on the way to me which are 1/2mm smaller. I think my problem was caused by the bevel at the edge of the M8 LCD screen causing the protector to sit up a little proud. In the meantime I've used an R-D1 protector, it's a bit smaller but has stayed securely in place. The ones you've obtained may be the 1/2 mm smaller version. They have a very long lifespan - the one on my R-D1 is still there after 9 months. Â Â Bob.

johnkuo Posted January 22, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted January 22, 2007 I just ordered some from their ebay store. Will see how they work. I never used protector on my previous cameras, but have used on my phone and they seem to work fine.
Cindy Flood Posted January 22, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted January 22, 2007 I had an early screenPatronus protector. The corners lifted and it eventually came off. It seems like a nice protector if the fit could be a little more tailored. It was nice and clear. The one I replaced it with was one that I cut to fit and it is not as clear. bradhusick Posted January 23, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted January 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) The best screen protectors are from shieldzone.com (semi-permanent) and hoodskins from hoodmanusa.com (removeable, 12 per pack I think). I use each of them on different cameras, ipods, etc. The choice of semi-permanent or removeable is a personal one. Â -Brad
