Stan Raucher Posted January 19, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted January 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know if Leica is still offering coupons for coding of older Leica lenses with the purchase of a new Leica lens? Did this offer already expire? Â Thanks, Â Stan
Advertisement Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Hi Stan Raucher, Take a look here Coupons for lens coding. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest WPalank Posted January 19, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted January 19, 2007 If you are buying a "new" Leica lens (I believe they started coding in June, 2006), it should already be coded?!
Stan Raucher Posted January 19, 2007 Author Share #3 Â Posted January 19, 2007 Sorry if my wording was unclear. Leica was offering two coupons for free coding of older Leica lenses with the purchase of each new Leica lens. I think that offer may have expired on December 31. Does anyone know if it is still in effect with the purchase of a new lens? Â Thanks, Â Stan
Englander Posted January 19, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted January 19, 2007 Sorry, it has ended. The announcement is still on the Leica site under "news" as an offer for the USA and Canada, but it says "until December 31." Â Joe
jrc Posted January 19, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted January 19, 2007 I thoght you got free coding of two lenses with the purchase of each camera, not each new lens. Is that incorrect? Â JC
Jager Posted January 19, 2007 Share #6  Posted January 19, 2007 I thoght you got free coding of two lenses with the purchase of each camera, not each new lens. Is that incorrect? JC  No, what you get with the purchase of a new M8 is two free IR cut filters. The free coding of two lenses was a separate offer to those who bought a new lens - but that offer was supposed to expire 12/31. Sucks for me since I just ordered a new 28 Summicron ASPH - two weeks too late.  The third offer out there is for 30% off the purchase of a new lens - that only applied to those who bought and paid for their M8's prior to 12/31.  Jeff

Yes ...new lenses come coded and are around Euro 100 more expensive than uncoded older stock ........ so it should make no difference in the end. Buying a coded lens just saves you the trouble of sending it in, but you also pay for the coding.
