Advertisement Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Hi luigi bertolotti, Take a look here Elmarit-M 24/2.8 ASPH discontinued. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
roguewave Posted December 15, 2010 Share #22 Posted December 15, 2010 Sorry to hear this news. I bought my first R24 Elmarit 2.8 many years ago & then bought a second copy for one of my R8 film bodies, on which it permanently resides. One of the best photo-journalistic lenses I have ever used. Clean, sharp, wide with lovely tones & contrast. For B&W film work, it is unrivaled, IMHO.
NZDavid Posted December 16, 2010 Share #23 Posted December 16, 2010 Probably a logical move with two others in the line-up, so customers aren't exactly missing out, but the 24/2.8 remains one of my all-time favorite lenses.
oysterboy Posted December 16, 2010 Share #24 Posted December 16, 2010 What do you think will happen to its value now that it is not produced anymore? Love that lens

jplomley Posted December 16, 2010 Share #26 Posted December 16, 2010 One of the most stellar lenses in the Leica arsenal. Was thinking of selling mine to put towards a second M9....think I will now find alternative methods for raising the cash.
alexmann Posted December 16, 2010 Share #27 Posted December 16, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been using this lens exclusively since I bought my M9. I've used it without a finder, though this is starting to grate a bit as I do miss having frame lines. Was thinking of selling it on to fund 35 & 50 luxes (which arrive tomorrow). Not so sure now. samuelphoto Posted December 30, 2010 Share #28 Posted December 30, 2010 Ken Hansen, the US dealer, confirmed this fact to me today. Too bad, this is a really great lens and a perfect compromise between the other faster (pricier) and slower versions.
ho_co Posted December 30, 2010 Share #29 Posted December 30, 2010 Now that I dashed out and bought one of the last ones available, what'll you bet that Leica replaces it either with a 28 Summicron or with an improved, recomputed 28 Elmarit at a lower price? gberger Posted January 1, 2011 Share #30 Posted January 1, 2011 Ours would be the last lens either to sell or to give to our progeny or friends.
