jaapv Posted December 7, 2010 Share #42 Posted December 7, 2010 Frank, if you google "model release" you get dozens of examples for all kinds of countries and situations.
Guest BigSplash Posted December 7, 2010 Share #43 Posted December 7, 2010 Frank, if you google "model release" you get dozens of examples for all kinds of countries and situations. Jaapv thanks for this and I shall do. FYI The last time I searched on Google it was for an "Olive Vibrator" ..its a portable long stick to help me harvest my olive trees. I found on that occassion some very strange devices that were not fit for purpose although were coloured olive. I hope that "model release" does not provoke a similar misunderstanding of my needs! masjah Posted December 21, 2010 Share #51 Posted December 21, 2010 Nick Thanks for standing your ground - the whole photographic community owes you one (particularly those, who like me, take a particular interest in architectural photography, as well as "street" photography). holmes Posted December 23, 2010 Share #53 Posted December 23, 2010 I live in a town that is quiet barren and devoid of a lot of interesting subjects and subject matter. Most of the major drug traffickers pass right on through. We do have our share of illegal aliens, and nothing gets done. For the fun of it I'm going to photograph the new federal courthouse. See what federal court house security will say, if anything. No posted sign against it. When I was in Trieste I shot a lot of outdoor chromes of Maximilian's castle. Inside on the first floor. OK. Started to take the second floor and was told by a daughter of a former WWII Italian camp guard. No pictures allowed. Unless you spend money. I didn't. If you should find yourself in San Antonio Texas and plan on shooting the Alamo( birthplace of Texas independence ), NO photographs are permitted inside the hallowed halls. You have to buy postcards. Washington DC high profile, shoot away. One sight you positively cannot shoot is the guard and changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknowns. It is total silence. But in the area between the Washington monument and looking straight across the reflecting pool there are many things. Lincoln memorial, the WWII veterans memorial. The Korean War veteran statues of a patrol. Finally the Vietnam wall and the several pieces of reflecting on several groups from that war.

Welcome to the forum! As long as it's not on the list of potential terror targets and you're photographing from a public place then in the UK you don't need the building owner's permission. Pete. You have to buy postcards. Washington DC high profile, shoot away. When I was working in San Antonio back in the eighties I took many photos in and around The Alamo and also in the State capitol building in Austin. Probably about 12 years ago we were in Washington D.C. doing the tourist thing. We went into the Capitol Building and more or less wandered around unhindered. We also went into and onto the floor of the senate and the Congress chambers where we were completely alone. Possibly not quite so easy now.

Which is evident from Google's images taken of all over the country - as I assume that being available from a company like Google would class such images as being taken for commercial gain.
