clou Posted January 16, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted January 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) My M8 is engraved as 3105160. While wanting to register me on the Leica site for obtaining the free filters, I noted that the site refused this number as "not-valid". While consulting the box and the papers, I realized that my M8 was registered as the 3005160. Other known cases, or did I receive an extremely rare collector's item ? Â But then, if they haven't any record of your camera, it may become a ghost. You have it, but Leica has no record of ever making it. Maybe you had accomplices at the factory who stole parts, and you built it in your back room? Â It's probably better to contact Leica and explain the discrepancy; they need to correct it in order to be sure any future warranty claims can be handled.
