wparsonsgisnet Posted January 17, 2007 Author Share #23 Â Posted January 17, 2007 My sister works for Suffolk University, Boston, MA, at their Madrid branch, but keeps travelling regularly to the US for business, so she is my unofficial smuggler. Maybe you've walked past her around Boston! Â My bride teaches dance there in the Summer (in Boston, that is). At a time like this with breaking technology (not broken, just rapidly changing, as in "breaking news" on TV), your sister needs to travel often. Â BTW, to blow the bride's horn: she was just interviewed on TV and the 20-some minute interview can be seen at To The Pointe. Click on the View via Internet link at the left, Choose the WMP link for Margot Parsons on 1/11/07. She shows about 9 minutes of dance, in segments from 4 different dances, and talks with the host for about 12 or so minutes. As my older son says, "it's a good watch." Â Also, if you click on the link where her name appears, you can go to her website and see some pictures. These are all taken with the D2. The ones with the dark backgrounds were jpegs (new camera, didn't know about raw, yet), and the ones with the white backgrounds were all raw from the D2. That's also a really nice camera. Â Regards to all,
scott kirkpatrick Posted January 18, 2007 Share #24 Â Posted January 18, 2007 Problem is Spanish Customs employees have nothing else to do but pick on people who order any tipe of merchandise from any country outside the Euro Union in order to leech outrageous taxes from us. Â Would WhiBal be available at ordinary photo stores? Â A WhiBal, unpacked, will fit in an ordinary letter sized envelope with room for the little carrying string and other stuff. Ask a friend in the US to receive it and remail it for you as a simple piece of correspondence. I find companies in the US are willing to be imaginative in labelling what they send overseas, but not to leave off the declaration altogether.
