Hello everybody,

first of all I would like introduce myself since it is my very first post on a Leica forum.

I am involved in Leitz/Leica since 1983 with SL2 (now sold out), R4s (35 PA Curtagon, 60 Macro Elmarit and 180 ApoTelyt), Leica Mini, then a 250 W Pradovit a Trinovid and (few years ago) a great M4 with LeicaMeter and 50 Summicron. Yes, not really a digital guru :-)

My question is about the M8 magenta issue and maybe it is a very known FAQ, please forgive me in this case, but I am really a very beginner in the digital forum:

is the magenta issue fixable via software (like Lightroom or Capture One)? Being a WB problem, I suppose it may be, but would like to know from your experience point of view.

Many thanks for the great forum you are doing, I hope to join your Team soon.

Flavio

Welcome Flavio. If you browse the forum you will find dozens of threads adressing this question. However, I will summarize. Filters work best, as one cannot differentiate between real and IR induced magenta. Having said that, it is possible to do quite a decent job in post-processing, the net result being that 90% of ones files, depending on the subject, will be fine.
