Thank you all for looking & commenting.

Graeme, Andrew, & Ben are right about a big contribution from the lens – a favorite because it's 'crisp, but not too sharp,' just as Ben said. On a digital body it still makes pictures that look film-ish. (And comments like theirs will restrain me from buying one of those new 35 Summiluxes!)

Paul, it's the place where I have coffee & sometimes lunch every week. It's an old establishment where the owner, staff, & friends sing & play music, on weekends – which accounts for all the people gathered on the wall (in the same room where the picture was taken). After I took the picture, the subject & I chatted about the folks in the picture, because we were both puzzled that some familiar faces, including the owner, were missing. It's a very nicely captured group portrait, though, apparently lit with bounce-flashes.

Kirk,

Yes, that is the word, "filmish". I looked at this a while now and could not put my finger on it, great balance and look to this,

Yeah, you are terrible right, there is a lovely organic look to that lens, and if anything the new 35 is not, it probably is organic filmic looking.

Btw, I'm planing a trip up to SF for the show, if you are bored I'm haply to buy coffee or dinner and let you spend some quality time with the 35.
