CSG123 Posted October 23, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) While the rangefinder patch isn't spot on alignment-wise at infinity and should be adjusted, the camera I got off ebay (Samy's) and 'cron I got from Sherry seem to be functioning properly. I haven't shot meterless in probably 40 years but these photos were all taken using Sunny 16. Out of the 36 exposures I uploaded 12 as representative. I did a little under and a little over exposing but by and large, for my first effort in years, I was pleased. The images are not particularly notable but my goal was to burn off the roll of film ASAP to look for any mechanical issues. As someone who has been using a D90 and P&S cameras for the past few years this was GREAT fun to do photography old school once again. I felt like a kid. I'll have to dust off the OM gear next! The film was processed and scanned onto DVD at Costco for a total of $4.59 plus local sales tax. It's a good way to go for C-41 film. I've got a V700 scanner if I need to scan something at a bit higher res but most of my stuff is either only online or no bigger than 11x14 if going in a frame. Advertisement Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Hi CSG123, Take a look here M4/DR Summicron/BW400CN - first test photos. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ulev Posted October 23, 2010 Share #2 Posted October 23, 2010 Very nice ! They don't look like "test" pictures to me ! I recently bought 50mm summicron DR and just finished my film so I might post some of my pic's over here as well but I'm afraid those are test shots for real ! Thx Ulev
CSG123 Posted October 23, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted October 23, 2010 Well, "test" in that I was checking rangefinder to lens accuracy and mechanical functions. I took photos at different distances and aperture/shutter speeds. I'm not the same kind of analytical tester as some members here. I just wanted to know the equipment works within specs. The rangefinder patch not lining up at infinity is annoying but it sounds like Samy's will make it right and credit me back the money for the repair. Edited to add that Samy's just emailed that they will credit back the cost of the repair.
