hulsroj Posted January 13, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted January 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know if it is possible to use the Canon flash on the v-lux 1 - or do I need a 'shoe converter'? -If not, is it just 'plug and play' , or do I need some adjustments? Advertisement Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Hi hulsroj, Take a look here v-lux 1 and canon speedlite 580 ex. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wmyowell Posted January 13, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted January 13, 2007 Unless you are certain that the voltage of the flash unit is less than six volts or that the V-Lux can withstand a higher voltage, I would be wary. I always use a Wein HSHS Adapter which reduces the voltage to less than six voltage. Some flash units can fry the circuits in the camera, and you do not want that to happen. Riley Posted January 13, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted January 13, 2007 at best it would only work in manual mode you need Olympus flash for TTL
harjtt Posted January 13, 2007 Share #4  Posted January 13, 2007 The Oly flash you can use are the FL36 and FL50 and both should work with TTL just fine. I'd go with Bill regards the adapter just to be safe.  Cheers  Harj
