decay2000 Posted October 12, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello My Dad gave me his M6 with all his lenses. I wanted to buy a filter to fit in my e46 35mm lux. My shop asked me do I want UV or UV-IR? She told me to get the UV-IR since all bodies before M9 have bad IR-cut filter. I dont think she knows that I am using M6. Do I need the UV-IR or just the UV filter? Thank you so much for your kind help this is being my first post here thank you. Advertisement Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Hi decay2000, Take a look here A newbie in M6 asks for UV-IR or UV filter?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
J_Thompson Posted October 12, 2010 Share #2 Posted October 12, 2010 The shop is incorrect as all you need is a regular clear UV filter, preferably a multi-coated one to reduce reflections. The UV-IR filter they are trying to sell you is only used with the digital M8. B+W is a good brand although Hoya will also do the job. Welcome to the Forum and lucky you for having such a nice father!
