tashley Posted January 11, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 11, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well, as with Jono and many others, the Grim Reaper arrived today to kidnap my M8 for treatment in Solms. Unable to find another one to buy to fill the void, I was reduced to parsing my M8 library for a shortlist of favourite shots from the first 60 days. For anyone who might be interested in a pretty eclectic mix of travel, landscape, street and informal portrait photography, not to mention the document of one man's journey with his M8, they can be see at http://web.mac.com/tashley1/iWeb/timashley.com/Leica%20M8.html Here's one to be going on with! And may the Gods of delivery and repair smile on us all! Tim

hrosell Posted January 11, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 11, 2007 Loved your landscapes, particularly "Sea storm" with such a tridimensional quality... You may wait 60 days to get it back, but at least you made so many good pictures so far. In the meanwhile I will keep waiting for my ordered M8 now delayed until March (hopefully...). Thanks for posting. Cheers, Horacio

jonoslack Posted January 11, 2007 Share #7 Posted January 11, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Tim I hope the flood drained away satisfactorily. This is a great gallery - lots of splendid shots - You did so much better than me on that brighton day - THE BIG ONE and the dolphin - actually, they're all splendid. The shot of Loo was taken when a pub full of us were really quite drunk but she says it's the only photo of her she's ever liked so I think the moral of that story is clear

bnelson Posted January 11, 2007 Share #11 Posted January 11, 2007 Tim, After reviewing your M8 gallery I'm not sure why you sent it back. That is really a nice set of photographs and clearly demonstrates why the M8 is backordered everywhere. Bill
tashley Posted January 11, 2007 Author Share #12 Posted January 11, 2007 Tim, 'Gorgeous' is.....gorgeous!Just recently got my M8. Almost afraid to use it! Ever get intimidated by the rep of a camera? Waiting on those filters. 2 more to go. First shot of my wife was PINK! Steve I know the feeling - the first night I had mine I went shooting on Brighton Pier and got a load of magenta in the tungsten, then I went to a dinner and took lots of shots of people who all came out bright red with streaks, blobs the whole thing. My heart really sank! But after working out my shooting and processing and getting some filtration, all the woes got left behind. Try Jamie's C1 profiles until the filters arrive, and avoid Lightroom! Tim

That is really a nice set of photographs and clearly demonstrates why the M8 is backordered everywhere. Bill Thanks Bill - to tell the truth I do get a lot of green blobs and banding so the fix will I hope clean up a lot of shots that might otherwise require painful post processing! As for teh backorders - I'm trying to buy a second body and it's nigh on impossible! Tim

This is a great gallery - lots of splendid shots - You did so much better than me on that brighton day - THE BIG ONE and the dolphin - actually, they're all splendid. You're too modest M'sieur - you got a load of great shots! Did you notice that in order to protect your privacy (the Scarlet Pimpernel of the Leica world) I didn't post that shot of you on the pier. But I will, if someone offers me enough! Tim

Tim LOL - well, I'd expunged that photo from my mind, and so, of course, I didn't notice. Mind you, I think I have a photo of you taking the dolphin shot, and revenge is, always, very sweet!
