Is DMR still worth to get?

My DMR would not take photos intermittently. As time went on the frequency of failure continued. It started behaving that way about 1/2 through the Falklands part of 18 day holiday, before continuing on to northern Chile. I had my D2 along as backup but missed some telephoto nature shots.

Oh, I forgot three things:

 

1. The LCD screen displayed "Err 2." If I recall, two other Forum members experienced the same error message.

2. If you begin experiencing other problems (without the ERR 2 message) you probably need to clean the electical connectors on the batter, scrubbing with a pencil eraser, or

3. ...you need to remove the DMR and power unit and clean all contacts with alcohol on a swab.
