lincoln_m Posted September 1, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2010 Mac B Guy, If you look at the end of the I LOVE MY M7 I have posted a pic of my M7 with silver 35F2 Asph, it is not MP with silver 50F1.4Asph but you'll see the silver on black thing. Also if you wade through the 80 odd pages of the I LOVE MY MP you'll see many silver on black examples. I do know what you mean, but it won't effect your images. A silver lens always feels as it it should cost more because of the extra 4oz weight, which helps. I think silver on black shows you are more interested in the lens itself than the fashion, i.e. more workman like. Hell if it is a good price for a 50 F1.4 asph go for it. It will only be another grand more in a few years and you'll be kicking yourself. The only thing to beat it would be a black paint one as used on the MP3 special recently, but these are even more rare. Regards, Lincoln
JBA Posted September 2, 2010 Share #3 Posted September 2, 2010 Some people hate this look, but it is classic for Leica. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/film-forum/8842-i-love-my-mp-24.html#post661178 I've since sold the lens in preference to a Summilux. This MP (one of three) has become quite brassed and has grown a Leicavit.
AbbeyFoto Posted September 2, 2010 Share #4 Posted September 2, 2010 Until recently a Leica for me had to be chrome. Recently succumbed to black but some lenses are chrome. I think my chrome 35mm asph with black hood looks great on a black body; more importantly I feel at home with it and like the added weight. rob139 Posted September 2, 2010 Share #9 Posted September 2, 2010 Old brushes are the best, I've been using this brush for at least 18 years now. It has seen a lot of paint and canvas. Rob
antistatic Posted September 3, 2010 Share #10 Posted September 3, 2010 I have exactly that combo. I can't post pics at the moment. I think it looks fine. More to the point, it helps you take great photos and isn't that what's it all about?

farnz Posted September 3, 2010 Share #13 Posted September 3, 2010 If you're planning to use the 50 Summilux wide open on bright days don't forget to get yourself a ND filter. Pete.
