By MguyBefore it goes to auction, I'm putting up a really nice 848 that I bought 5 or so years ago from chrism of this forum. It had been completely refurbed by HB (check w chrism for confirmation).I checked it out on receipt and just today. Worked fine both times. And sweet cosmetically. Haven't used it between purchase and now. (Guess I don't need it)
Comes with all the trimmings... 6 neg carriers, power brick, firewire 400 to 800 cable and original HB shipping carton (triple box).
More photos available.
Asking 6500USD net to me plus actual shipping.
Have forum references.
Also have Epson V750 flatbed & Minolta 35 5400 II to purge.

By alan mcfallHas anyone ever seen the Leitz G1 movie projector? I have Leitz brochures that show it was available from around 1953 to 1959. I wonder if Leitz made it, or contracted it out to someone else. This was the smaller of two projectors, the H1 model was for large theaters. I have tried to attach a photo of the G1.

By pgkOK I have just been given an LS5000 (I thought I was being given an old SCSI Coolscan but no!). I obviously need to run it via software and my only previous experience was with Nikon's own which is no longer an option as far as I am aware. I'm Mac based and running OSX 10.9.5 on a MBP so I do have USB ports (2) or could use a Thunderbolt with adapter if this gives any advantage ('though I doubt it would). Any suggestions given that I have a vast number of slides, some still in filmstrip form, and that speed whilst not essential would be useful? I have looked at both the Silverfast and Vuescan sites and both claim to be good; any others to consider?
