Cyan vignetting??

Hi Jaap,

I don't know of one (other than making an action in Photoshop) but the effect certainly is reduced when using coded lenses. Just for clarity, the vignetting is actually of red and the cyan is the evidence of what's left when red levels are reduced. That's why I refer to "cyan drift" and/or "red vignetting". The second term is technically correct but the first is more visually intutive (to my mind). 1.10 should be available for download in February.

Best,

Sean

As long as there is no version 1.10 firmware: Is there a quick and painless PS plugin to remove cyan vignetting?

Yes, if you have Photoshop CS2 or CS3 and the PixelgeniusPhotoKit plugin. Procedure is quite simple. Using the Photokit plugin select the Dodge 4 corners action which will create a layer mask that is transparent in the center with graded density towards the corners. With this layer still selected, go to the Image Adjustments menu in CS2 or CS3 and select Photo Filter. Use the magenta filter and adjust the density slider until the cyan viginetting disappears. You can also adjust the layer mask opacity to fine tune the result.

Panorama Tools ora PTCorrect (is same oba first one 8bit, secont is 16bit). This is plugin Photoshop got inside calls <<Radial Luminance>> you take <<Options>> and put inside some small negatif valuable for Blue and Grin and put <<OK>> then does softaware aftomatic take away cyan corners. No needs for layers. no need take big time. Also is best part of, this softaware do not cost nothing. If you make it Google <<PTCorrect>> you come to place where download it from.

Hi!

Not sure but if what you are talking about is chromatic aberration there is a filter in CS2 and 3 in the distortion sub menu and it is call Lens correction and it as a Fix Red/Cyan fringe

Filter>Distor>Lens Correction

hope it helps!

The complement of cyan is not magenta but red - so use a red filter and adjust the density slider until the cyan vignetting disappears.

Yes, sorry - senior moment on my part. Red is the filter to use.

Do you know if firmware version 1.1 will operate successfully with an unfixed original M8? I ask because I am debating when to send mine back to Solms for the fix.

Thanks
