h00ligan Posted August 22, 2010 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I saw some samples today at dpreview(user thread) that actually did look good/great for a tiny pocket cam. Has anyone else contemplated the camera? What about the price for the rebadge? I adore leica's design, but in this case I am thinking of lx5 for a pocket cam (supplement dslr and x1).The first samples were.. meh.. but a few users have posted shots and it seems to be a really nice little camera. I already think $500 is a lot for it, the s95 will msrp at 20% less, so I really doubt I'd pay double the price for a boxy body in black... So basically what do you think of the lx5 with leica lens (yes I know the whole it's not a real leica argument)? ISO 800 really surprised me. They were the first shots that made me feel the lx5 was a real upgrade.
Advertisement Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Hi h00ligan, Take a look here I've warmed to the lx5 (it has a leica lens, lol) . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jankap Posted August 22, 2010 Share #2 Posted August 22, 2010 In one month from now on the Photokina in Köln the newest cameras are shown. Personally I wait with decisions for this fair. Jan
daveleo Posted August 22, 2010 Share #3 Posted August 22, 2010 i would absolutely wait for photokina announcements (in fact i AM waiting) before dropping your $$$ on something. i have the LX3 and it is a hot carry-around camera . . . i shoot almost everything at ISO80, and the results are stunning when i hit it right. the LX5 promises discreet focal length settings (AT LAST !) and zoom to 90mm . . . those are 2 of my 3 complaints about the LX3 ( where is my integral EVF ? )

MPJMP Posted August 22, 2010 Share #5 Posted August 22, 2010 I am considering the upgrade. Might even spring for the Red Dot trim package.
