Bloozaddict Posted August 16, 2010 Share #1 Posted August 16, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello All, I just purchased a D-Lux 4. Having trouble figuring out how to set up the manual focus. I wanted to take some macro shots in the manual focus mode. Couldn't get it to work. Any suggestions? farnz Posted August 17, 2010 Share #2 Posted August 17, 2010 Welcome to the forum, Bloozaddict! To use manual focus shift the slider on the side of lens barrel to manual and use the joystick to adjust the focus. I recommend turning on the manual focus assist through the menu, which enlarges the centre of the picture up to 4 times to help nail focus. One of the things I particularly like about the DL4 is that when you're using manual focus the screen displays a vertical line for focus and also shows the depth of field. I normally shoot macro with AF so beyond the above I can't help. Pete.
elgenper Posted August 17, 2010 Share #3 Posted August 17, 2010 Another GREAT thing about MF with the DL4 is the ´Focus´ button on top of the camera. Whenever in MF mode, pressing this button gives a ´burst´ of AF, so it can get you ´in the ballpark´ far faster than the joystick. Once you let go of the button, AF stops, and you can fine-tune with the joystick.
