Question: Transferring DNG ---> Desktop

When files are transferred from the M8 to the desktop running Windows XP using the method suggested in the manual, DNG files are named as TIFF when they are stored in the computer.

 

Luckily, PS/CS2 can recognize the internal format and automatically opens it in ACR.

This has been a common problem among windows users. The sollution everyone agreed on was "get a mac" ;)

 

Actually everyone seems to think windows is reading the header data of the tiff preview in the DNG and so it calls it a Tiff. The real sollution is to use a card reader, and that solves the issue.
