cosyma67 Posted January 5, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted January 5, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) My dealer offered me this morning a new Konica M-Hexanon dual lens 21-35 mm F3,4-4, KM mount type usable with advantage on the M8. His argumentation was, that this lens will be as good as the Tri-Elmar respectively better. As I had no knowledge of this lens till today so I woud be glad to get some meanings or recommendations of yours. Thanks for your answers. terrycioni Posted January 5, 2007 Share #2  Posted January 5, 2007 Paul,  I use this lens most of the time. It is a great lens on the M8. My personal recommendation is to go for it, depending on the price of course. I also have a TRI-ELMAR and the dual is on the camera far more largely because of the 21mm 3.4 (28mm on the M8).  Remembrance Day On The Drive - a photoset on Flickr  All shot JPG with the Hexanon dual.  Cheers. geoff Posted January 5, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted January 5, 2007 I was reading that only 800 of these lenses were made. What price are you being quoted? For me, the range would be very versatile. More so than either Tri-Elmar alone. Â Erwin Puts Test Report - Konica M-Hexanon Dual Lens 21-
cosyma67 Posted January 5, 2007 Author Share #4 Â Posted January 5, 2007 Thanks Terry and Geoff, Â the quoted price is about 800,-- EURO for a new one - boxed with specificated accessories. Cheers Paul
kleung Posted January 15, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted January 15, 2007 Hi Paul, Â I just joined this forum... have you bought the hexanon 21-35 lens finally? I'm very interested to get one as well so would like to hear if I could contact the shop directly if you haven't bought it yet. Many thanks for your help in advance... Â Have a great week, Kenny. Giulio Zanni Posted January 26, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted January 26, 2007 Which frames does the 21-35 triggers on the M8? I imagine that you would need a 28mm viewfinder for when the lens is set to 21. Does the 35 triggers the proper frame? Â Thanks, Giulio
MP3 Posted January 26, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted January 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is a super good price. I'm interested in it as well. Hope the dealer got more than one. Â Cheers Matthew

Does the 35 triggers the proper frame? Thanks, Giulio  Giulio,  It does trigger the 35mm frame-line and you do need a 28mm viewfinder. It does come with a beautiful 21/35 viewfinder for use with a film M or of course the Hexar RF.... I simply use the full viewfinder of the M8 - which is close enough for most purposes.  Cheers. Giulio Zanni Posted January 26, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted January 26, 2007 Any idea where can I get one of these? Â Thanks, Giulio
Giulio Zanni Posted February 8, 2007 Share #11 Â Posted February 8, 2007 It seems that I managed to get my hands on a 21-35. My next question would be: will it make any difference in terms of image quality the fact that it is not 6-bit coded? Â Many thanks, Giulio
carstenw Posted February 8, 2007 Share #12 Â Posted February 8, 2007 Does it vignette? Otherwise the only potential problem would be that if you put an IR filter on it, the corners will be cyan, at least at the low end.
