D-Lux 3 raw write times?

I have seen a couple of posts mentioning writing D-Lux 3 raw files in under 3 sec. Mine consistently takes almost 5 sec, tried with either a Sandisk Extreme III 1GB or a Panasonic Pro High Speed 512MB card.

Can anyone who is getting faster times with this camera post how fast and what card they are using? I also wonder if there could be any firmware differences between cameras that affects speed. I use raw all the time and would really like to have faster writing.

I also use two SD Cards, but they have different writing times:

2 GB Lexar -> about 2 sec

1 GB Kingston -> about 5 sec

I am not that familiar with SD cards, I bought them in addition to the D-Lux 3 and it is the first time I use them. To me it seems that the SD cards are the reason for different writing time, not the camera. I think that was mentioned here before.

Thanks, will try the Lexar. Is it the 133x "Professional" version?

I am sorry, but I can not tell that in detail, because I only have the SD card remaining. On that is nothing else but 'Lexar 2 GB SD card' written. I did not keep the box or anything and I can not remember such details.

Hi Preston

One of the posts was probably mine - just timed again, confirm SanDisk Extreem III 2GB SD card writes RAW in something just over 2 seconds. Only other distinguishing features on the card are 'ESP technology [nice to know that extrasensory perception has found a commercial use in accelrating write times - something SanDisk have kept very quiet about]. Code on back difficult to read but looks like BE0A28505083B. If someone can tell me how to find out what the firmware version number is, I'll put that down as well.
