My perception is that OIS mode 2 can cause a slight additional delay, as the sequence appears to be 1) fully press shutter release 2) wait for IS to work 3) fire shutter This mode 2 interruption of the shutter sequence may explain why the existing Olympus bodies can't use mode 2... full press of the shutter is hardwired to firing the shutter (of course, it could also just be the proprietary nature of OIS mode 2, but I doubt it). As expected, the D3 works fine with Olympus and Sigma 4/3 lenses. The fisheye is very much a special purpose lens. Be sure it's really worth it to you before buying it. Greetings, I have used it with Olympus 4/3rds lenses and have also used it with the Sigma 30mm F1.4 4/3rds lens. All work extremely well. I also have the Nikon to 4/3rds adapter from Stephen Gandy CameraQuest Home - haven't tried it yet but will in the next few days. According to the book........you can shoot consecutively up to the size of the card. I use a 2 gig and it says 90 RAW/JPEG. I may just have to try that to see what point it bogs down. jdlaing Posted January 5, 2007 Share #16 Posted January 5, 2007 Okay..... I have tested it both ways. First, in RAW, you can shoot six and as the buffer clears you can shoot additional. Here is the neat part. If RAW is turned off and you are shooting large fine JPEG, the camera will continue to fire until the card is full. In my case that is 90. Additionally........when firing the 6 in RAW there is an indicator on the LCD that shows them writing to the card but when RAW is turned off there is NO indicator. It's like they are instantenously written to the card with no lag. If you drop the image quality down in progressive steps the shutter fires progressively faster as well.
