pico Posted July 25, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 25, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) The only complaint I've ever had of Leica photography products is the ergonomics of some lenses as it concerns focusing. Not all lenses, of course, but the 75mm Summilux and certainly the earlier 35mm Summilux. Leicagoodies.com has the ultimate solution to the 75mm. It is fantastic. Here is a similar device for the old Summilux 35mm. It keeps the tiny focusing tab, and adds a very useful, tactile and firm-gripping focusing ring. I'd be tempted to make a master model for manufacture if there were more interest. If no interest - well, that's good to know, too!
Advertisement Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Hi pico, Take a look here 'Steer'-like device for other lenses. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rickp13 Posted July 25, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 25, 2010 the summilux aperture ring is pretty close to the lens shade, making tiny sticky fingers useful, but i haven't (yet) missed a steer-like focusing ring on the 35 summilux. i do use the steer on two other lenses, though, so count me among the 'interested' for your ring. i'll keep this thread subscribed in case there's news. thanks rick
