Turnaround for 6 bit coding - Europe

I agree, I do too, but I'm on a New Year de-tox regime and to break a New Year's resolution this early would be frowned upon by SWMBO. Normally, bottled water comes in two varieties for me, red and white, sometimes fizzy.

HI Mark

I gave up smoking last March 1st - that's quite enough de-tox for 1 year! We were in Southwold today and I got some rather wonderful bin-end claret from Adnams.

Hi Mark - same problem - they did try to pick mine up on the 22nd Dec (but I wasn't here, and the email from solms said 4th January).

I've also tried to talk to someone at ParcelForce about this . . . . . and as far as I can see you can't.

It's damned irritating when you've waited in all day for them to pick up.

In all fairness, Leica service U.S. (New Jersey) has done a wonderful job getting the coding done on my lenses. I understand that they hired two persons, trained them on the coding and calibrating process, and all they do is the coding updates. I sent in 10 lenses (five at a time) and each batch was back to me in less than four weeks. I could not ask for more. Nice to be able to congratulate every once in a while rather than always complaining.

Thanks Robert Fisk

I don't know if Solms have a fast track for coding-only jobs but when I have sent my lenses in for coding, there's been other work to do, currently sorting out the unbearably sludgy focussing action of my Noctilux. That precludes any fast track for me but I think it's good Leica US have stepped up to the demand.
