holmes Posted July 21, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 21, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yeah we actually have humidity for a couple of months of the year. I can start in June (late) or July and carry on through August and into September. Years ago I had a salesman friend who sold dissicant for industrial purposes. He explained how it work by absorbing the moisture in closed or sealed containers. Since that time you will not find one of bags without the metal containers. The beauty is that it is reusable. Pop it in an oven for 3 hours at 300F and it's like new. Over and over again. It won't help ypou take better shots but at least it will eliminate fungus on the lens. MX5Bob Posted July 22, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 22, 2010 I just bought two of these: Amazon.com: Dry-Packs Indicating Silica Gel 40 Grams in Sturdy Aluminum Canister - No Cobalt Chloride II - Reusable by Reactivating!: Sports & Outdoors I put one in the plastic box I use for undeveloped film, which goes in the fridge. The other will go in a camera bag, when I get a camera bag. Each of them can handle three-cubic feet.
