John Maio Posted January 2, 2007 Share #3  Posted January 2, 2007 Good Evening, I just took a few pictures with my new V-Lux1 and I would like to be able to post one. The smallest JPEG I have is 928 KB and it will not upload! Please advise me.  thank you  steven  You'll need to modify that JPEG in some sort of photo editing program (PhotoShop Elements, Fireworks, iPhoto and many many others) and then first make sure the image is 72 lines per inch (from the usual 300) and then re save the JPG as another file, Also be sure that no one side of the picture is more than 960 pixels and that the total file size is less than 244K.  Which photo edit program do you have?  You should post your image on the Photo Forum for all to enjoy. imported_steven Posted January 2, 2007 Author Share #4 Â Posted January 2, 2007 Yes I know about this page. Let me reword my question. I took a few pictures with my new V-Lux1 with the ISOat ISO100, pict.size (2m EZ). Yes I do know that the size for this site is only 244.1kb to uploaded. I would like to know how to make my pictures smaller to be able to upload, thank you. Â steven
mitchell Posted January 2, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted January 2, 2007 Steven, Â You need to tell us which photo editor like Photoshop or iPhoto you use so we can tell you how to downsize your photo. Â It's good to get it to about 235 K or smaller because there can be meta data along with the image that can take you over 244 K without you realizing it. This used to drive me nuts! !:^) Â Hope you enjoy your new camera. Â Best, Â Mitchell
ho_co Posted January 2, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted January 2, 2007 Steven-- You will need to use your image processing software to reduce the size of the image. That's easy to do, but to tell you how to go about doing it, we would need to know what software you're using. Â If you're using Photoshop Elements, it won't help for someone to tell you how to solve the problem in a different application. Â Welcome to the forum; we're looking forward to seeing your pictures! Guest guy_mancuso Posted January 2, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted January 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would think Adobe elements comes with this camera and i would load that and open the images than i would bet there is a save for web in that program somewhere. imported_steven Posted January 3, 2007 Author Share #10  Posted January 3, 2007 Guy,  Thank you for being kind. I used the Photoshop Elements that came with the V-Lux. Guy this is new for me but could you explain SRGB? I'am not looking for a tutorial just some simple polite advise.  Thank you and Happy New Year  steven
Guest guy_mancuso Posted January 3, 2007 Share #11 Â Posted January 3, 2007 Steven it is the color space that a image is in. I don't have elements but there should be something on color management or color settings. But you maybe shooting jpegs that are already set for that in the camera so if the images you are posting look pretty close to what you are seeing than you are probably in SRGB. Hope that helps
larry Posted January 3, 2007 Share #12 Â Posted January 3, 2007 The only color-space choice in Elements is sRGB. If you open the menu item "image" and then scroll down to "mode," you'll see the available options. Â Larry
