Advertisement Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Hi michelv, Take a look here D Lux 4 and viewfinder . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jankap Posted July 11, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 11, 2010 Well, the camera has a zoom lens, so you have to decide what viewfinder you take: 24 or 50 mm or both. There are excellent used (Leica-)viewfinders for 50 mm in the market. Made for the pre M-Leica, so before 1950. I suggest to take a look at the hoodman lens too. It is a pity, that Leica did not make a provision for it. Jan
prk60091 Posted July 11, 2010 Share #3 Posted July 11, 2010 What are the experiences with using a viewfinder in combination with the D lux 4? I had the viewfinder, and ended up selling it on . I missed the histogram.
mb1pb Posted July 12, 2010 Share #4 Posted July 12, 2010 I find a viewfinder indispensable in bright sun for composition. The dedicated viewfinder has 24 an 35mm frame lines. I also use an old Leica 50mm finder.
griffster Posted July 13, 2010 Share #5 Posted July 13, 2010 If they'd made a viewfinder with bright lines for all aspect ratios at widest angle, I would've bought one by now.
Tom Barry Posted July 13, 2010 Share #6 Posted July 13, 2010 I use a Hoodman 1X LCD-viewing loupe in bright sun conditions. If I'm going to be taking a series of shots in bright sun, I use a couple of rubber bands to affix the loupe to the camera It's like having a real viewfinder (although it looks a little strange). krandall Posted July 14, 2010 Share #7 Posted July 14, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the viewfinder and Hoodman. The viewfinder is better than nothin, but I agree, I like using the Hoodman better. I actually don't even bother attaching them. I wear the Hoodman around my neck, and don't have much trouble holding it against the camera just when I need to. Karen
Tenor1 Posted July 16, 2010 Share #8 Posted July 16, 2010 The viewfinder for my DL4 is left on the camera and used when needed. I don't use the zoom when using the viewfinder, in fact, I rarely ever use the zoom. I have the Panasonic version and love it.
