Because we have had two weeks almost unbroken sunshine here in the UK (unheard of) and it is now raining(!) the subject for July will be: SUNSHINE :D

Usual rules- no limit on the number of posts, newbies particularly welcome, no minimum standard (no maximum either!).

The exact moment of the Summer Solstice at Arbor Low stone circle in Derbyshire. Some people have their own private ceremony, others worship the sun in a more modern fashion. Hmmm, don't know why I said that, perhaps Neolithic men and women did sunbathe?

'Nine Stone Close' stone circle. Late afternoon sunshine filtered by a tree.

Thanks for getting us off Steve. I believe that the scientists and historians now believe that Stonehenge (and, for all I know all the other stone circles) were actually built to mark the Winter solstice!

All those Druids, eh? Please come back in six months, with something warmer than a tea-towel on your barnet. :D

Yes, the Winter Solstice is the high point (if you believe in paganism), but its strange that you don't see so many people about as you do in Summer....? And the wind at Arbor Low can cut you in half in the Spring, but in winter you need body armour.

well . . . your link worked fine and i pushed a few buttons is all . . . it actually took longer to correct the perspective distortion in my original than it did to do the tone-mapping.

Zeke was the cat who taught me that some animals have souls.

(I already knew that some people don't.)

We battled 5 years against the inevitable.

D, my wife called him the "Sunshine Kitty".
