leicamann Posted January 4, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 4, 2007 If this is it.... the legs missing and all..I completely disagree with this cropping. Thanks for sharing Regards, Leicamann

andybarton Posted January 4, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 4, 2007 If this is it.... the legs missing and all..I completely disagree with this cropping. Thanks for sharing Regards, Leicamann The leg might be "missing" because the egret is standing on only one. The other will be tucked up underneath. dkCambridgeshire Posted January 4, 2007 Share #6 Posted January 4, 2007 Yes, the other leg is tucked up ... bird is standing on one leg ... nice picture but unfortunately not much can be done about the lighting and the resultant shadow obscuring details. martinop Posted January 4, 2007 Share #7 Posted January 4, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I ditto above comments regarding Egret standing on one leg with the other tucked under its feathers. I have seen this a number of times. Notice your home base is Hong Kong. There are excellent bird shooting opportunities in Malaysia. I am not sure if Laurence Poh (Malaysia) is still active re bird photography. He was a pioneer re the use of the Digiscope versus using long telephotos to get close to birds. Dunk I don't mind the shadow; and as far as cropping, perhaps just to decentralize the subject a little? Otherwise your capture's composure reads just like a "Flowers & Feathers" painting. Nice catch. -grant
