lct Posted January 1, 2007 Share #21 Â Posted January 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Problem of screw-in metal hoods is they tend to damage filter threads in case of bump or drop of lenses. Wonder why Leica does not use the same clip-on system as that of 35/2 and 28/2.8asph hoods on the 35/1.4asph or 28/2 BTW.

MP3 Posted January 12, 2007 Share #22  Posted January 12, 2007 Dear Carl  As the heavystar hood is a screw in type, can we usethe 486 IR-UV Cut Filter together at the same time with this heavystar metal hood. It's a very nice looking hood indeed.  Best Matthew
hankg Posted February 5, 2007 Share #23 Â Posted February 5, 2007 I like the B+W and Helipan rubber lens shades. In the event of a bump they deform and absorb the imapct rather then transmiting it to the lens. They also fold back in the bag taking up less room. rosuna Posted February 5, 2007 Share #24  Posted February 5, 2007 I have a chrome silver 35 lux and the hood from the Contax G2 35mm lens is the perfect solution. Although the Contax is titanium, not chrome silver, it looks very good on the lens. Also the Contax hood uses a press fit cover which is very convenient. Woody Spedden  Do you have any pictures of that combination?

photoarne Posted July 10, 2007 Share #26  Posted July 10, 2007 A friend sent me his 28 Hexanon to test and included a vented 46 mm-thread hood. I love the hood so much, I've been using it with various lenses. If I find a source for them, I'll pass that on. I don't like to have the frame line area blocked at all, when possible. Cheers,  Sean (from the road)  I have that lens and hood too. Great hood, the lens is not too shabby either, interesting to see your results.
