It'd great fun to play with vintage lens on modern digital cameras.

On the shot below are 3 Soviet cameras. In the middle is Leica II copy (Zorki, this one is made 1956, one of total 1,7 millions produced) ), in the back is Zeiss Ikon Contax II copy (Kiev, made approx 1950) and camera on the left is FED 5 (produced 1977-1990), further development of Leica II copy in USSR.

This image is shot using Jupiter-8 lens, Zeiss Sonnar 50mm F2 copy and M4/3 to M39 adapter with GF1.

I remember these cameras from my days as a cash-strapped student in the 1960's - wish I had bought one or two and still had them now. I did eventually buy a second hand Zenit with an F2 Helios, which was very solidly built and served me well for several years.

Apologies if this is not appropriate for the Leica digital forum!

Hi, I've got a Zorki too, has been in my camera display cabinet for years - I was only thinking the other night that I should try the lens, via adaptor on my M8. Got a Zenit also

They were great for the price - esp. when you are young and have a limited pot of cash.

the Jupiter-8 is a beautiful lens :)

I need to shim mine for focus accuracy and have not found a source of fitting shims yet, but where it focuses, it is sharp and the image characteristics are nice.
