tom0511 Posted December 30, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 30, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I kind of expected it but it really is there: the pre-flash leads to a delay/shutter-lag, which is clearly noticable. I am not sure if I like it. I might check out if I do not just use auto when shooting people. what do you guys think about the delay?
Advertisement Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Hi tom0511, Take a look here delay when doing flash TTL ;(. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
khanosu Posted December 30, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 30, 2006 Thomas, you are right the delay is quite significant and noticeable. I was expecting a shorter delay comparable to the Canon 1D/5D + flash pre-flash which is quite short and not a problem at all. I use flash mostly for family who have gotten used to the pre-flash delay with the M8, I am not sure how this will affect the pros like wedding photographers; the pre flash might cause the subject to blink, on the other hand it might make the subject relaxed thinking that the picture has already been made at the pre-flash stage?
