Guest WPalank Posted December 29, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 29, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Forgive me gentlemen and ladies if this question has been addressed before (I could not find it), but where does one send Leica lenses in the US for the 6 bit coding? Does it have to be Solms? This is what is posted at the Leica website: "Lenses bought in the past will be converted at the request of the customer for 95 euros at the Customer Service of Leica Camera AG in Solms or the Leica agencies of other countries." Does someone have the address or telephone for these "other agencies"? Also, if people could give advice as to how ro ship (bubble wrap, Fed-X, etc) it would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to PM me if you are shy My black M8 is on order (fingers crossed), so I might as well get this issue out of the way. Finally may I suggest to the Forum moderators that they might consider posting the address(es) as a sticky since I doubt all of us have purchased our Leica glass only after June of this year (when the encoding was automatically imbedded). Cheers!

sagarwal Posted December 29, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 29, 2006 where does one send Leica lenses in the US for the 6 bit coding? This form talks about the 6-bit coding promotion that Leica USA is running, but it should answer your question about where to send the lens in the US. marknorton Posted December 29, 2006 Share #6 Posted December 29, 2006 There's an age-old joke about <insert nationality you wish to deride for not knowing German> people travelling on German autobahns and not being able to understand how every exit is a sign-post to this place called "Ausfahrt"...
