Advertisement Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Hi Guest Olof, Take a look here Whats your favourite lense ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wattsy Posted December 28, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 28, 2006 The current 35/F1.4 seems a perfect match for my M8 as a single lens choice but I'm not sure I'd want to be stuck with only that lens if I was using my M7.
danielt Posted December 28, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 28, 2006 If you can live with f4, TriElmar 28-35-50 is a good option I am using it (1st version) and is a perfect lens for travel. I own also Elmarit 28 coded and Zeiss Biogon 35 mm f2, but Elmarit is 95 % on my M8
danielt Posted December 28, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 28, 2006 I am sorry, I want to say TriElmar is 95 % on my M8
chrism Posted December 28, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 28, 2006 I have to speak hypothetically since the courier won't be here for another hour! Given the popularity of the 35mm length on film M cameras, and the fact that 28mm pretty much gives the same field of view on an M8, I wonder if there might be a 28mm 'lux one day? abrewer Posted December 28, 2006 Share #6 Posted December 28, 2006 If you only could have one lens, whicht would you choose ? That's easy...give me the 35mmf2ASPH...easily the most versatile and compact lens for the M-anywhere shooter. Thanks. Allan
j. borger Posted December 28, 2006 Share #7 Posted December 28, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) 50 summilux asph or noctilux ........
Guest guy_mancuso Posted December 28, 2006 Share #8 Posted December 28, 2006 I was just in NY for several days with the 15,21,28,50 and 90. I think the most used lens was the 21mm and thn the 28 mm and one day just had the 28mm on camera and left everything else in the hotel. But i think my favorite is the 50 lux and i will leave a question mark after that becuase i do use them all and just love the M lenses. Not sure i could pick one lens but the one that is on the camera is the 28 F2 cron
kdemas Posted December 28, 2006 Share #9 Posted December 28, 2006 I'd have to say either my Noctilux with the new style Elmar 50/2.8 close behind. There is really something I like about the 2.8 but, if I could have only one lens, I'd go with the speed of the Noct. Kent
Giulio Zanni Posted December 28, 2006 Share #10 Posted December 28, 2006 28 summicron. I would also be prepared to kill for a 28 1.4.... Giulio
wparsonsgisnet Posted December 28, 2006 Share #11 Posted December 28, 2006 28 summicron. I would also be prepared to kill for a 28 1.4.... Giulio I want faster wide lenses, as well. C'mon Leica, Do It! I have 35, 50, and 75 1.4's. Gimme a 21 or 28. My current favorite on the M8 is the 35 f1.4 asph. However, using the 24mm, and seeing the detail on panorama shots (particularly, see the shots in the Yosemite series!) make me want to start taking panoramic shots -- and therefore I am thinking of the CV 15. khanosu Posted December 28, 2006 Share #12 Posted December 28, 2006 I will gladly join Giulio to kill for a 28 Summilux; meanwhile I could live with the 28mm Summicron as the only lens on my camera. Furrukh
leseinne Posted December 28, 2006 Share #13 Posted December 28, 2006 well i only have one, a 35 summicron , which was a little to wide on my M6 for me ( i m a 50 mm guy) but which suddenly becomes perfect on my M8:D the next one WILL be the noctilux, it's like the graal for me jerome
woodyspedden Posted January 4, 2007 Share #14 Posted January 4, 2007 I will gladly join Giulio to kill for a 28 Summilux; meanwhile I could live with the 28mm Summicron as the only lens on my camera. Furrukh Well Furrukh I do actually have the 28 cron and while one more stop would be superlative, the 2.0 is just wonderful. There is no doubt (in my mind) that 28mm is the focal length of choice for the M8. Love this lens, love this system, love Leica. No doubt, if this is not the ultimate system, a variant of this system will be. Woody

brucek Posted January 4, 2007 Share #16 Posted January 4, 2007 My 28-35-50 Tri-Elmar on the M8. No question.
pklein Posted January 4, 2007 Share #17 Posted January 4, 2007 For the M8 that I don't have (yet?), the 35/1.4 Summilux ASPH. For any film M, my 50/2 DR Summicron, with the 35 'Lux ASPH a close second. Each for different reasons. --Peter
de dirk Posted January 4, 2007 Share #18 Posted January 4, 2007 witch new objective for the M8 (that has not arrived yet)? as i have the summicron 35 mm and 50 mm i am considering the elmarit 2.8/24 mm asph., instead of the cheaper and lighter elmarit 2.8/28 mm. relative to the 35mm format this give me 32 mm, 50mm, 67mm lenses.... so far this forum has proved itself very usefull, and yes, made me buy the camera..; thanks everyone for your comments
jlancasterd Posted January 4, 2007 Share #19 Posted January 4, 2007 Can R-owners play as well? My favourite for the R8-DMR combination used to be my 21-35 Vario-Elmar-R, but recently my new 28-90 Vario-Elmarit-R has seen more use. When I owned an M6, I favoured the 35mm 'chron
