khanosu Posted December 28, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 28, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Everybody, If you do a search for Leica M8 at B&H and then hit “show me in stock” then the M8 (both silver and black) show up on the resulting page, even though it says “back ordered” next to the camera. Last time their site showed this strange behavior (for silver M8) was when they did in fact get Silver M8s in stock the very next day. As if they are preparing the site for new stock. This is in fact how I bought my M8. So there is a possibility that M8s might show up in stock tomorrow or I might be totally wrong. Just a guess but who knows? Please don’t be mad at me if this does not happen tomorrow; my theory is based on only one sample point Normally back ordered items never appear when you hit “show me in stock” only stocked items and special order items appear. amedick Posted December 28, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 28, 2006 The black was available when I looked, I started the ordering process, got the credit card details, was just finishing the delivery address and a window popped up saying it was now out of stock. Missed it by about 10 seconds, my bad luck. Been a regular BH customer for 15 years but could not buy it fast enough. The notify when in stock feature does not seem to work well with many products.
