Giulio Zanni Posted December 27, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 27, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sometime ago I received an e-mail saying that a parcel service would come on 27 December to pick up my M8 for upgrade, although they could not tell me the time. Today I had my M8 ready, well packed together with the Noctilux and 90 tele-elmarit for 6-bit coding. I waited all day long at home but they did not show up. I am not saying that Leica has to be blamed but the whole M8 story is becoming a bit frustrating.....I guess I just needed to say it. wattsy Posted December 27, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 27, 2006 I thought the same was going to happen to me today but the courier finally showed up at 4pm.
erl Posted December 27, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 27, 2006 Giulio, Frustrating as it is, anyone booking in advance is exposing themselves to frustration through delays. It happens! ... everywhere. Cheers, Erl
grober Posted December 27, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 27, 2006 Giulio, Hang in there! We're all going through this same trial. -g
chrism Posted December 28, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 28, 2006 A similar problem, my M8 shipped from the dealer in Toronto on Friday, but didn't turn up today. I rather wish it wasn't Christmas! Maybe tomorrow. Perhaps if I had been posting about my reservations, then made a spur-of-the-moment decision to buy one, I could have walked right out into a shop and found one like that lucky so and so Wilfredo! ho_co Posted December 28, 2006 Share #6 Posted December 28, 2006 Giulio-- Call the courier involved; ask about the failure to pick up on time. During the holidays they often have to put on extra people and some things fall through the cracks. And good luck! --HC
Giulio Zanni Posted December 28, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted December 28, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) After several attempts, I finally managed to get in touch with GLS. Apparently, they never received the order to pick up my camera. However, I got a reply from Leica offering a new date for pick up...
