M8 corrupted files

It is a card reader issue.

Downloading directly from camera (with tif extension) everything is OK. I tried this for the first time now, as a last resource, an it worked. I was terrified by the perspective of sending the camera back to Solms.

Thanks to all.

Sergio

Happy to see that it has nothing to do with the M8. That would have been a bit too much to endure. Would you care to tell us what card reader, so that some of us don't buy the same model?

Thank you.

I think the SDHC cards working in the M8 was just another one of the miscommunications about the M8.

Robert--

Thanks, you could be right.

But since I buy almost exclusively Sandisk cards I've paid special attention to the posters who have had problems with the alleged 4GB Sandisk SDHC's. So far, at least two forum members have found that they do not work on the M8.

Sean R has reported that Christian Erhardt says the M8 supports the SDHC standard; someone (Geoff Hall, I think) has shown that the Sandisk 4GB supposed SDHC card doesn't include the second part of the labeling requirement; and at least one other forum member has reported using a 4GB SD card that is not labeled SDHC (possibly Transcend brand?).

For more on the matter, see http://www.leica-camera-user.com/digital-forum/11542-can-your-m8-format-4gb-sdhc.html, where I said some of the same things I've said here, but where there are also comments from more knowledgeable folks.

Seems to me the matter isn't fully settled; but using the smaller cards avoids the problems.

Respectfully,
