I just checked mine and it's dead silent. On the other hand, my hearing might be totally hosed, too. My Contax RTS III used to buzz quite loudly, but I never had a problem with it.

At least I know my hearing is good. The fact that you have similar sounds seems to indicate that this is normal in Leica gear. Thanks for checking your gear.

 

 

I just went online to register the camera and get my two filters. I've heard these won't arrive until February. The confirmation e-mail didn't say when they would be arriving.

Yeah, Leica said somewhere that they would ship filters in February/March, along with firmware 1.10. There have been reports of firmware versions as high as 1.14, IIRC, but they could of course lower the number again if they want to, since none have been released to users.

My shutter button seems to work fine, no problems there although the shutter is noisy which is a minus, something we will all have to live with.

 

This was my biggest surprise today. The sound is like that of the shutter in my Bronica RF645 recocking, but longer and louder - not the 'last gasp of a dying mouse' (as a reviewer described the Bronica's sound) but more like a choking guinea pig!
