Friday December 22nd forum members Mike Richards, Steven Wright and myself gathered at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum for some holiday cheer and Leica-shooting.

Here's a few of my results from that day. I hope Mike and Steve will join in and share their catch for the day as well on this thread.

Thanks.

Allan,

The speedway museum was a brilliant idea and great place to meet. Lots of cars from many eras.

I attended the 500 in 1977, which was the first year a woman competed -- Janet Guthrie. She retired early in that year due to mechanical failure, as happened again in 1979. But in 1978, she started 15th and finished 9th -- her best finish. The car was the Texaco Star. Here's a shot of the Drake-Offy engine compartment.

Both shots M4-2, pre-asph 50 'Cron, Kodak freebie 400UC.

Thanks for the invitation and a very enjoyable afternoon.

Mike

Hi Mike!

Glad you made it home okay.

Shots look great. I'm glad you enjoyed the Museum. It's a great place to go on a winter day and look around.

I'm hoping Steven will post some shots, too. Last I heard from him he was in Florida goofin' off!

:)

Have a good day!

Thanks.

Allan
