Lee Martin Posted May 16, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 16, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) If any members here have invested in a D-Lux 4, then can i just say that they would be well advised to buy a copy of "Photographers Guide to the Leica D-Lux 4" Written by a Mr AlexanderS White, available on Amazon, i recently bought one, and it's everything the official instruction book should have been. If you spent your hard earned money on the camera this is the best accessory you'll get for it

Petercoll Posted May 17, 2010 Share #4 Posted May 17, 2010 Further to this, I am a new blogger, and this is about Leica's shop in Mayfair, where I went and bought a D-Lux 4 today ! For my very first digital camera (besides my Nokia phone), to accompany my R3 and host of lenses, I was convinced about owning a compact of the 'G 11 ' type, so much favoured with many experts. Then, I said to myself, what about a 'happy snapper' that all the family could share, like the V-lux 20 ? Eventually, with a good and thoroughly impartial examination of both, I went away to think things over, and came back to the store and purchased. Afterwards, the staff made it known to me that they felt I had made the right choice, and I congratulate them for not instilling any pressure towards my choice. It was also fun afterwards being shown their new attachment for the D-lux 4 for bird watchers, whereby it picked up a door hinge across the street through one of their 'scopes. Furthermore, they invited me back to the Leica Academie later on sometime, at my convenience, for an introductory course on my new camera. To summarise, it was much much more than just a professional 'selling' experience, for which I really am most grateful.
Which is the language that is written?.. Does content come illustrated with many drawings?.. Thank you

Yes there are plenty of illustrative diagrams and photos and I can only agree with the OP that the book is far superior to the D-Lux 4's manual. Pete. kwpatlaw Posted June 5, 2010 Share #8 Posted June 5, 2010 To Lee Martin and the other posters : I just bought this book on Amazon and it is Fantastic. If you own a D Lux 4 , then you will WANT , make that, NEED this book. It will save you many months of reading the poorly written and incomplete Leica instruction manuel. The D lux 4 will surprise you once you figure out how to use it as it was designed. Ken:
