troyfreund Posted December 26, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 26, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anybody else out there wish for a digital point-and-shoot with an optical viewfinder? I went out looking at P&S cameras today and was sorely disappointed in the lack of viewfinders. I would have thought that Leica, bastion of formal photography, would not have folded to the market pressures of viewfinder-less P&S cameras. sigh, disappointed, Troy
Advertisement Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Hi troyfreund, Take a look here optical viewfinder-P&S?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dav Posted December 26, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 26, 2006 Yep ... I'm with you. I do not like and will not use anything but an optical view finder. But, I'm also some one who is not the least little bit enamored of digital photography. To me, it's froth with excuses, rationalization, spin, etc, etc, etc. As I was taught not to say anything if I had nothing good to say, I will not comment on Leica's digital offers. Bob Ross Posted December 26, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 26, 2006 There are still a few around, like Canon's digicams. I have an old Nikon Coolpix 5000 for that. Now, if you mean a decent optical viewfinder, that shows more than an 80% field or even has floating frame lines....well, that is a sad story. MrEd Posted December 27, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 27, 2006 You'll find some Olympus digi-cams with optical viewfinders out there. Have you seen them? Ed. .
