I was going to wait a while, but it seems more than one have taken the time to pursue the story behind this fascinating and remarkable automobile & are aware of the identity of this thing so I think it's time to reveal all.     I would have staked my money with John on an 1955 Continental Type-R by H.J.Mulliner based on the way the front quarter lights affect the 3/4 front view as they are inset from the main frame which looks a little odd/noticeable from this angle.

    They also made a 1956 S-1 fastback coupe - but I’m not sure the glass is exactly the same

      Nothing is interchangeable between the Mulliner bodied R Continental and the Mulliner bodied S1 Continental.  I have had both.

      Here is the subject car (with rare manual gearbox) in the early eighties on the The Boulevard at Kew (Melbourne), an excellent fun driving road until the Fun Police littered it with speed-bumps and roundabouts.  A nicely balanced car which drifted beautifully.  The Bikies couldn't get past.

        Most S1 coupes were Mulliner but some were made by other coachbuilders and looked different (Park Ward, James Young made 2-door Saloons, Graber a convertible, Hooker the "Docker Daimler style", Freestone & Webb some saloons and maybe one coupe). so that had to be mentioned. I like them a lot, also the R-type Continentals. Very nice car, hektor!

            Dear Ronald, I imagine a few hookers were passenger in the Continentals, but the "Docker Daimler style" was Hooper.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hooper_(coachbuilder)

              Yes, a Safari 911 from Dr. Brandenburg. This car has the nickname "Rommel". The owner also has a special classic looking "hunter beetle".
