wlaidlaw Posted May 7, 2022 Share #17421 Posted May 7, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would bet that it would almost take the efforts of a full time mechanic, to keep those large parallel opening doors working like they should. I think it is one of the prettiest of Jacques Saoutchik's cars. Given the enormous cost of the bodywork compared with the rolling chassis, I wonder why André Dubonnet opted for the smaller engined, older design H6 rather than the later J12 chassis? The only reason I can think of is that Dubonnet's own design of "knee action" independent front suspension, would not have been able to cope with the very considerable weight of the V12, either the short stroke 9.4L or the long stroke 11.3L. Charles Morgan Posted May 7, 2022 Share #17422 Posted May 7, 2022 That was a cracking car. I believe Peter Mullin is building a second collection in Oxfordshire and hopefully, who knows, I'll get to see this in the flesh. Right, the next challenge. Welcome, dear visitor! Rona!d Posted May 8, 2022 Share #17429 Posted May 8, 2022 I must confess that crop is too tight for ME to determine the correct car. But let me start to ask if it´s of French origin.
Charles Morgan Posted May 8, 2022 Share #17430 Posted May 8, 2022 Not French, but it was made in countries including France.

pippy Posted May 9, 2022 Share #17438 Posted May 9, 2022 It looks rather like an Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk.1 although there doesn't seem to be an inlet-scoop(?) at the rear of the bonnet. Might I be on the correct train of thought? Philip.

wlaidlaw Posted May 9, 2022 Share #17440 Posted May 9, 2022 A few years ago, I went on a Model T Ford driving day. I kept the driving notes we were sent a few days before, to speed up the learning process. I post them here for anyone who is interested.
