That is something. Best Regards, Michael Alfa Romeo also used clockwise & counter clockwise lug nuts. My '70s Spiders all had them. And that's a beautiful Lancia Aurelia B20 coupe! wlaidlaw Posted October 12, 2021 Share #16226 Posted October 12, 2021 (edited) Headlights are Zeiss (I had them on my Bentley Speed Six and I think they are not quite as good as Lucas P100's, although apparently a lot more expensive). I think the car might be a Horch 8-305 from around 1928. Wilson Edited October 12, 2021 by wlaidlaw

I recall an event with a Bentley of like period arriving, with lovely large headlights that I commented on favourably, to have the driver reply "they may look good but they are still F***ing useless!". But no, it's not a Horch.
wlaidlaw Posted October 12, 2021 Share #16228 Posted October 12, 2021 (edited) Let's try the other German "monster" of a Maybach Zeppelin DS8 of around 1930? The Zeiss headlights on my Speed Six were a deliberate choice to make it look more German. The body was made to look similar to an SSKL Mercedes by H.M.Bentley (W.O's brother), who rebodied the car in 1934, while lowering and shortening the chassis for the new owner, Colonel Euan Rabagliati. Wilson Fascinating! But, it's not a Maybach.
Charles Morgan Posted October 13, 2021 Share #16230 Posted October 13, 2021 A bit more detail. This time taken with my M3 and 35mm Summaron. The car doesn't come from the country of the headlights or the camera! Welcome, dear visitor! Michael Geschlecht Posted October 13, 2021 Share #16231 Posted October 13, 2021 Hello Charles, Could this car come from the USofA? Best Regards, Michael
wlaidlaw Posted October 13, 2021 Share #16232 Posted October 13, 2021 It might be a Pierce Arrow Model B but they usually have artillery wheels, rather than Rudge Whitworth, so I am going to go for a 1929 Delage D8. Wilson
hektor Posted October 13, 2021 Share #16233 Posted October 13, 2021 My guess is a Talbot 105.
Charles Morgan Posted October 13, 2021 Share #16234 Posted October 13, 2021 Hi Michael - not from the USA. Not a Delage D8 Nor is it a Talbot 105, but the origin of the car is getting much warmer!

Charles Morgan Posted October 13, 2021 Share #16237 Posted October 13, 2021 Hopefully this gives enough to get those guesses over the line. Although it's a very low res scan! Welcome, dear visitor!
