Last Thursday in Castlemaine, the body shape was in production for three years, this particular motor installed only in its final year:

Sorry Hektor, was abroad only with my mobile phone. Here is the full car. I think it could be a 1951 model. Unfortunately a drive-by-shot so no steering wheel details (except what you can see here).

Thank-you Rona!d.  They were a nice little car.  I have the steering-wheel from one hanging on my study wall.  Considering they were imported immediately after the War, a surprising number came to Australia.

Indeed, and even though not original, indicate a V8 engine only installed in the 1963 Mercury Comet.  Mute-on came closest.
