Advertisement Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Hi wlaidlaw, Take a look here Name this car..... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.j.z Posted January 1, 2020 Share #12682 Posted January 1, 2020 The name of the company is well known (for classic cars) and part of some name combinations. Here its „nickname“ is combined with the name of the company that produced the engine.
Michael Geschlecht Posted January 2, 2020 Share #12683 Posted January 2, 2020 Hello Andreas, Happy New Year. The steering wheel in front of the radio might lead a person to surmise that the auto in question was originally built with the steering wheel on the other side & that the car as we currently see it is a later conversion. Is this possible? Best Regards, Michael
a.j.z Posted January 2, 2020 Share #12684 Posted January 2, 2020 (edited) Thanks, Michael! Happy New Year to you, too. I do not know, but I would be surprised as the car is from the UK, although I agree that the position of the radio is a little bit odd (but it would not be possible to reach it from the left side). a.j.z Posted January 6, 2020 Share #12685 Posted January 6, 2020 The car has a three litre six-cylinder engine.
wlaidlaw Posted January 6, 2020 Share #12686 Posted January 6, 2020 Alvis-Healey G Type from around 1952? Wilson
a.j.z Posted January 6, 2020 Share #12687 Posted January 6, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Correct, Wilson. As far as I could find out this car is from 1953. Interestingly there is more information in the German Wikipedia entry for the Donald Healy Motor Company than on the English one, where this car appears to be missing. I found this one in English though: https://www.lancasterinsurance.co.uk/news/2017/july/03/the-alvis-healey-at-the-classics-supercars-show-sherborne-castle/. Your turn! wlaidlaw Posted January 7, 2020 Share #12688 Posted January 7, 2020 Here is your next one. I think this will cause a lot less head scratching than AJZ's last ultra rare car. I would not have got that without the 3 litre engine clue. Photo taken with R9 and 50mm Summicron-R ROM and the underwhelming Kodak ProImage 100 film. Scanned on a Noritsu scanner. IkarusJohn Posted January 17, 2020 Share #12691 Posted January 17, 2020 This is a complete stab in the dark, but the windscreen and roof line look American to me, a bit like a Cadillac ...
wlaidlaw Posted January 17, 2020 Share #12692 Posted January 17, 2020 Not a million miles away. Year as well plus model preferably. There is a significant difference on this car from the Cadillac. Wilson

wlaidlaw Posted February 6, 2020 Share #12699 Posted February 6, 2020 Indeed - a Chevrolet 6 from 1931 at Samode Palace near Jaipur, the property of the brothers of the Maharaja of Jaipur. This lovely palace was built some 450 years ago, about an hour's drive north of Jaipur, to keep troublesome brothers well away from Jaipur politics. Now an excellent hotel. I had cloned our the radiator badge. Taken with R9 and 50 Summicron-R final ROM series. It certainly has that gangster look about it. Your turn Wilson Welcome, dear visitor!
