Advertisement Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Hi stuny, Take a look here Name this car..... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mikemgb Posted November 13, 2017 Share #10422 Posted November 13, 2017 To keep this alive - A generous crop: I recognized this place from the floor and the wall. I was part of a group of MG owners that was given a tour by the owner back in 2009. He brought out his K3 Magnette and did a few laps of the parking lot in it, a wonderful experience. However, I don't actually know what this car is without the use of Google.
stuny Posted November 13, 2017 Share #10423 Posted November 13, 2017 Mike - It's a delightful museum. I just wish it were a bit closer to its city center to make it more likely I'd get to it more often. The owner has put together a remarkable collection.
stuny Posted November 14, 2017 Share #10424 Posted November 14, 2017 No further thoughts? The company that made it is American, and soon after it's founding was bought by General Motors.
wlaidlaw Posted November 14, 2017 Share #10425 Posted November 14, 2017 I think it is an Oakland but I don't have information on the models of this marque as my Georgano Encyclopaedia Vol.1 cannot be found at the moment. Wilson
stuny Posted November 14, 2017 Share #10426 Posted November 14, 2017 A 1916 Model 38 Oakland Speedster. It was an independent manufacturer for only one year before GM bought the firm in 1909. They closed the division in the mid 1920s. Your turn.
wlaidlaw Posted November 15, 2017 Share #10427 Posted November 15, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) My power is going to be off for most of the day, wiring up a 32 amp/7kW charging point for my new PHEV auto and therefore server is shut down. Please bear with me until this evening until I find another image. Wilson

willeica Posted November 18, 2017 Share #10430 Posted November 18, 2017 Two questions. Is it a truck? What side would the steering wheel be on if you could see it? The seats look like they might come from a French vehicle, but I will leave it at that. William
wlaidlaw Posted November 18, 2017 Share #10431 Posted November 18, 2017 William, It is described as a car by the maker although generally in commercial not private use. Steering wheel - too big a clue. Not French. Wilson
willeica Posted November 18, 2017 Share #10432 Posted November 18, 2017 A wild guess. Is it a Mahindra of some kind? William
Graham (G4FUJ) Posted November 18, 2017 Share #10433 Posted November 18, 2017 Single wiper spindle, on the left hand side would point to LHD. Not got a clue what it is though. I don't think it's early Jeep.
AZach Posted November 18, 2017 Share #10434 Posted November 18, 2017 A car with no steering wheel - a railcar of some kind?
dkCambridgeshire Posted November 18, 2017 Share #10435 Posted November 18, 2017 Is it powered by a motorcycle engine? dunk
wlaidlaw Posted November 18, 2017 Share #10436 Posted November 18, 2017 Dunk and AZach are basically correct - country and manufacturer? There were three models, the first two with a V Twin and the last with a side valve four cylinder.
AZach Posted November 18, 2017 Share #10437 Posted November 18, 2017 Hello Wilson, my guess was just to continue Your guidance #10431, otherwise haven’t the faintest idea... Regards, Arto
dkCambridgeshire Posted November 18, 2017 Share #10438 Posted November 18, 2017 I was thinking Kawasaki but on second thoughts maybe not. dunk
wlaidlaw Posted November 18, 2017 Share #10439 Posted November 18, 2017 Dunk, Much older and closer to home. Although this has four wheels, as I believe this is one of the middle generation of models, it shares its power train with a pre-war three wheel commercial vehicle.
