Schuppan 962 CR - at first sight I thought it was a Dauer 962, but that 'conversion' used the  same headlights the race cars used - Vern Schuppan, an ex- works driver went a bit further in his road-legal 962 . The Gurney flap on the 959style rear spoiler should have given it away. Rare indeed......good one, Andreas.

John is correct: A Schuppan 962 CR P1 from 1991

Vern Schuppan won Le Mans in 1983 with a Porsche 956 and then decided to build a sportscar based on a 962

Wasn't there also a British version of this road converted car, made in the Silverstone workshops of  Richard Lloyd Racing. I think it was not a success either. It used the early Porsche double clutch gearbox (PDK). It might have been of the 956 rather than the 962, I can't really remember. These road converted race cars are normally pretty awful, with heavy steering, rock hard suspension and leaden brakes, a bit like a Pagani Zonda. You would never want to drive it for long, as it is so hot inside you are close to melting after 30 minutes. It was not a great decision to use a Fiat Punto air conditioning compressor.

Sorry about this, but I simply do not have the time to post the next puzzle car. It's one of those times when everything happens at once and I must tend to matters before things get out of hand.

If someone would be good enough to jump in and post something it would be much appreciated.

Just to keep things moving here's something which I chanced upon this afternoon.

Whatever you might come up with will be given full consideration. Recently I've fallen into the trap of offering-up far too generous a crop and I DID think about sucking-out the colour so as not to give away too many clues but, even so, in retrospect you might enjoy having as much info as possible at your disposal...

I love this car! Enjoy!

I was thinking Sunbeam!

Oooh! I like your thinking, Indeepthought, but although you are close it isn't a Sunbeam (apart from being someone's pride and joy)...

Let's head 'west' for the next give-away;

Before that pe I was thinking of a '60s small BMW.

No, Stuart, not a BMW. Nor, I suspect, in its day in UK terms would it have been described as 'Small'....

I should probably check up on that score...

Philip.
