Here some details and a selection of four Borgward 2400 (fastbacks and Pullmans).

Still looking for the 2400 fastback my grandfather had (first year 1952 one of 96 made in that year).

Thank you for the puzzle-car, Ronald, as that was completely new to me. I've just had a quick google at 'Images' and (IMO) in fastback form in particular it was a VERY attractive car.

Best of luck in tracking down your grandfather's car!

Philip.

Here one in two-tone. Same sunroof like my grandfather had. He bought this instead of the Tatraplan 600* he considered but due to a lack of dealers nearby and very good experience with Borgward/Hansa cars during the 1920s - 1940s he bought the "Twentyfourhundred" to replace his Adler Autobahn Cabriolet. The 2400 had an air drag coefficient of just 0,36 which was great in 1952.

* The older Tatra 87 wasn´t in production anymore and the 600 in his final year while the 603 came 4 years later. In total numbers the Hansa 2400 is the much rarer car now with just 1388 made (Tatraplan 6.342 made). Hard to find one but a collector in the neighbourhood has FOUR of them which I find amazing.

You got it!

I must admit that I mainly solved it by reading your answers very carefully.

I will try to find something in the evening, but if somebody else has a good one please go ahead!
