Being a 'bairn' from Falkirk myself I'm rather curious as there was never any such gathering (AFAIK) when I was still in the area. Nice wee car, too! Philip. Hopefully it's back in 2023, open to spectators after being closed to the general public for the last two years. https://bsac.scot/

Then Mahle redesigned the engine* and also the gearbox had to be redesigned by Hurth (Munich) I think. *Glas had not enough money to pay an external redesign, so his production engineer Dompert played a trick on Mahle. He told them their parts failed. So Mahle found the construction fault with the Glas engine and proofed it wasn‘t their fault. Glas was happy having saved money and eleminated their prototype flaw.

Past winners include the likes of George Abecassis, Sydney Allard, Ken Wharton, Ron Flockhart and a certain Jim Clark; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bo'ness_Hill_Climb Philip. wlaidlaw Posted November 29, 2022 Share #18819  Posted November 29, 2022 I did the Bo'ness hill climb (not very successfully) in my mother's mini cooper in I think 1963 or 64. It was only the second hill climb I had ever done after Fintray near Aberdeen. I had the bright idea that, as winter tyres were softer rubber than the standard Dunlop Gold Seal cross ply, they would give me more grip and they were wider at 5.50 instead of 5.20. When my father came to refit the winter tyres in October of that year, there was a a bit of an inquest, as to how the winter tyres, which had been put away in April with almost new tread, now appeared to be bald. i blamed my brother, who had also used them for marshalling on the Scottish Rally and was now safely away at university in New York. Wilson 4

It was the location of the indicator that gave it away to me. Could have been a Europa, but the bumper was wrong for that. Imp engine - in original build, yes. I have nothing to post, so it's open to anyone to post the next quiz.
